If you fear Friday the 13th, then batten down the hatches. This week’s unlucky day is the first of three this year.

The next Friday the 13th comes in March, followed by Nov. 13. Such a triple whammy comes around only every 11 years, said Thomas Fernsler, a math specialist at the University of Delaware who has studied the number 13 for more than 20 years.

By the numbers

Here are 13 more facts about the infamous day, courtesy of Fernsler and some of our own research:

1. The British Navy built a ship named Friday the 13th. On its maiden voyage, the vessel left dock on a Friday the 13th, and was never heard from again.

2. The ill-fated Apollo 13 launched at 13:13 CST on Apr. 11, 1970. The sum of the date’s digits (4-11-70) is 13 (as in 4+1+1+7+0 = 13). And the explosion that crippled the spacecraft occurred on April 13 (not a Friday). The crew did make it back to Earth safely, however.

3. Many hospitals have no room 13, while some tall buildings skip the 13th floor.

4. Fear of Friday the 13th – one of the most popular myths in science – is called paraskavedekatriaphobia as well as friggatriskaidekaphobia. Triskaidekaphobia is fear of the number 13.

5. Quarterback Dan Marino wore No. 13 throughout his career with the Miami Dolphins. Despite being a superb quarterback (some call him one of the best ever), he got to the Super Bowl just once, in 1985, and was trounced 38-16 by the San Francisco 49ers and Joe Montana (who wore No. 16 and won all four Super Bowls he played in).

12. I can’t even sleeve the wires well because all the cables are cris-crossed all over the place. 

After some wishfull thinking and some little cash, I picked up a nice review on Xigmatek PSU’s. It’s modular and has an 80%+ power efficiency rating. That means its actually 600+W unlike other power supplies that boasts 600-750 wattage, but the real output is like 300-350(coughcoughgenericcough).

So here’s what I got with me new Xigmatek PSU

As we open the box, we can see inside that the wires and accesories are put in pretty nicely and we got a little bag and case for the other wires in modular form.

Here we can see the manual and the wires in plastic nicely tucked in the case.

Here’s the white bag for the PSU to put and the Velcro case to put on the cables and the 3 year warranty card from Xigmatek incase you have some problems with the product.

Here’s the cables along with the PSU, pretty nicely sleeved and has the apropriate lenght for convenience.

Here’s the PSU itself, with nicely done PCB’s on orange coating and heatsinks. Along with the 140mm fan to cool off the heat.

We can see on the side is the dubbed “No Rules Power” leather seal. A pretty nice touch IMO.

Here are the nicely fit modular slots to put in the modlar cables, this is a big plus for me as I don’t use all the cables in the PSU and I can have space for cooling.

First off is the Team Xtreem Rams:

As we can see, my rams are running 400MHz. But 1066 is 533MHz, first thing I checked is the compatability issue on my Processor. I can overclock them to 1066 though thru the Processor OC with the BIOS on the Gigabyte MA78GM-S2H mobo.

And here we see the GPU-Z of the card, I’ve OC’ed it with the Catalyst Overdrive for ATI cards with the little help of Catalyst Control Center. The farthest the card can get is 720/1060. But as seeing that the case is not too well ventilated, I opted for 670/950 clocks with fan speed of 80%(don’t want to go 100% because of the lifespan of the fan within the card)

And here is the Catalyst Screenie, we can see the default GPU clock @ 500Mhz and Mem clock @750(This is powerplay mode). The real clocks are 575 for GPU and 900 for Mem. And as we can see here, the Temperature is 51′C, if its open case, the card is 40′C below w/c is pretty cool.
